Discover the Natural Wonder of Emerald Pool, Krabi – A Hidden Gem in the Rainforest

If you’re looking for a destination in Krabi that offers more than just beaches—a place where you can breathe in the fresh air, enjoy peace and quiet, and truly connect with nature—Emerald Pool is a must-visit. With its striking green water set amidst a lush tropical rainforest and serene walking trails, this spot is perfect for nature lovers and photography enthusiasts seeking a tranquil yet unique experience.

Why Visit the Emerald Pool?

Emerald Pool is a natural hot spring known for its stunning emerald-green water, created by the reflection of sunlight on the minerals in the water. It’s located in the Khao Phra Bang Khram Wildlife Sanctuary in Khlong Thom District, Krabi. Visitors can take a short nature trail of 800 meters, or for those craving a bit more adventure, a longer 2.7-kilometer path through a rich peat swamp forest filled with birdsong, insects, and rare tropical plants.

Upon arriving, you'll be greeted by crystal-clear green waters so transparent that you can see the bottom. This is a designated swimming area (though caution is advised as the bottom can be slippery). The refreshing water is perfect for cooling off on a hot day or after a light rain when the forest feels especially rejuvenating.

Highlights Not to Miss

  • Blue Pool – A magical spring with shimmering blue hues. While swimming here is prohibited, it’s a top spot for stunning photos and quiet contemplation.
